1600x1200 is NOT a widscreen res... 1920x1200 is a widscreen res...

but very nice to hear it runs so smooth! Battlefield 2 too uh?

cod 2 under Mac OS X plays wonderfully at 1900 X 1200 with ALL settings to high except AA....Everything on high and 2x AA, and it is VERY playable (probably at the lowest 30FPS, higher most other times). I don't understand why everyone is having troubles

My Specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.16
2GB Ram
7600
500 GB HDD

well I tried it under windows and it's 35 fps at 1280 , unplayable (like 5 fps in 1920) and frankly, that's sort of strange, since when did mac os become better at 3d games?

how many fps do you get? type /cg_drawfps 1 in console and just tell me the numbers, because "smooth" is a matter of definition

yeah dude--i dont think COD2 (at least, on xp boot camped) runs playable at 1900 res. 1600 x 1200 runs playable though.

I bet it will be slow as hell, emulation always comes at the cost of speed...
btw I tried the mac version of cod2 and in my opinion it runs exactly like the windows version... haven't found the key to toggle the console yet anyone know what it is?

how can it run beautifully in 1920!?!?!?! could you please tell me your framerates? because all I get in 1920 are about 19 fps, if you call that beautifully, you're a total newb mate, sorry to tell you that :D doesn't it give you a headache?
given, the loss of fps in 1920 compared to 1600 is minimal, but yet, it's slow as hell in my eyes, looks beautiful, but is not playable at all, try that in a multiplayer game and you'll see.

It's not that easy mate. Some dude got HL2 running on his MacBook but there are tons of features (such as lighting) that don't work properly. It's great news for the Mac platform, but not as easy as a simple install I'm afraid. :(

Why are some people trying to get stuff running in Crossover or Parallels? I thought the whole point of Boot Camp was that it runs natively, so all resources are dedicated to XP which is important if you're wanting to run games?

I'm sure everyone understands that but one must inquiry how the performance will compare when using Parallels or Crossover instead of Bootcamp. Its always good for Testing purposes and I for one would definitly like to hear some feedback playing games under "CrossOver".

well that explained it... if you change the render settings to high quality you'll get the fps I had... now with it set to auto, I get around 60-70 all the time... but still 1920 apperars to run "unsmooth", changed it to 1280 and that was bliss....
100 fps, smooth, all of a sudden it was fun to play ;)

I have bf2142 on my c2d mbp 2.16 with a gig of ram, and it works pretty good, and thats with a 128video memory. Im sure bf2 will run fine on a imac.

Those are my settings for COD2 in Mac OS. Runs between 30-40fps throughout the game. Now when you run it on windows and its using direct3d instead of open gl the game just doesn cut it at that res. I have it at 1280 in windows with most of the stuff turned up and its running in around the same 30-40fps. I think ill just stick with my pc for my gaming cause i can get way higher res outa that than the mac :)
