Anyone want some chicken?
i'm going to guess that it was rove and cheney who used to keep an eye on what bush said. i'm hearing that andrew card and scott mcclellan are the new watchkeepers, and man are they doing a bad job.
I'll admit it, this made me chuckle
Zim, I've heard the same thing -- that Rove and Cheney are no longer the font of wisdom that Dubya is going to for advice, and that Card is on the other side of that struggle. My own guess would be that this started about the time Rove was in the hospital and Katrina hit.
Yet while Card may have succeeded in reining in Rove and Cheney for the time being, if he's calling the shots now he's spectacularly bad at it. Bush may have gone from bad to worse in advice here.
What's stopping you, Bush? Oh yeah, all those Iraqis who you said would welcome us with open arms that are now trying to blow us up. Yeah, let's wait until all those guys are gone.
CIA: when we said "open arms," we meant they carried guns out in the open!
I suggest he put on flak jacket and grab an M-16 and head on over. Maybe he can also bring that cute hardhat and carpenter's belt he wore down in Louisiana a few days ago.
What can he mean? He has NO IDEA.
Yep, everything was scripted. Except that last part. Bush went a little off script at that point. "Bring 'em on".
it's the blog part of the Voice, fwiw.
