BBS software

    Hi, im starting up a WoW gaming guild and was looking around for a good free (or v cheap), easy to use, pre-made BBS system. Any1 got any recommendations? :confused:

    I think Invision is free, PHPBB is unsafe, but OK and Proboards are pretty good. I like vBulletin the best, but a lot of $$$.

    And here I was expecting some discussion of FidoNET, L.O.R.D., and TW2002. I must be showing my age.

    To answer your question, though, I've had good luck with phpBB.

    Was wondering for a bit.. Why not just use a forum instead of putting up a BBS?

    Then I read the second post... "Doh!"

    I always think of a forum as a more advanced BBS. I personally don't like the bulletin style list, very unorganized. From the ones I've seen at least.

    I just think PHPBB has too many known security flaws. Especially for a WoW gaming board, they'll all know how to crack it probably.
