what time are you guys gonna be there?

    hey,
i've been lurking for a while and since the iphone 3g launch is fast-approaching decided i'd ask what time you guys are going to get on line.

i think i haveta wait at at&t since i'm an at&t non-iphone customer right now.
anyone else gonna be at the at&t store in bellevue square?

I'm thinking about being at the Apple Store in Bell-Square. Does anyone know when the mall will open it's doors? It usually doesn't open until 9.30am. Any one have any info on this? If not, I'll call tomorrow.

I'm thinking about some time between 4-5 at the Apple Store. I did talk to a Mac Specialist today asking if they'd be able to handle existing att non-iphone customers at launch and he said that they should be able to but he recommends me giving att a call to be sure. After all, there's no iphone launch like one at an Apple Store. :)

In the same conversation, the Mac Specialist answered my question (where's the line going to start?) by saying, "You'll see the line when you get here; otherwise, the Macy's entrance is usually open." - this- I don't get.
But yeah I'll try to be there early.

I was thinking of trying to get there between 7 and 7:30. I have no idea how long it might take... I have an appointment in Factoria at 10 so I'm hoping that would be enough time to get me in and out? Does anyone know how busy it was last year?

    Mall opening time?

Does anyone have a guess as to what time the mall doors open? I assume they open at least at 8 for mall walkers?

That's good news! When I called them yesterday and asked some questions the lady didn't know anything. Then I apparently freaked her out when I told her what was going on. I'm glad you got some good information. West entrance it is!

Last year, I picked the Bellevue Square store. I headed over there like by 1PM and was inside the service hallway.

This time, I'm thinking way earlier. As last check, the store actually opens *early* then posted for "Personal Shopping" or "Genius Bar" during normal days, so Bellevue Square should be open as well.

I'm still debating to myself. My friends are going to meet at U.Village store around 11pm, but I feel like it's going to be packed. Meanwhile, I may drive to the U. Village store tomorrow evening (~8pm-ish) and see what's going on first.

Thinking of hitting the line at 5am

I guess I'll get up at 4:00 am and swing by the Redmond AT&T store or head over to Bellevue Square. There will be ropes set uo at the Ann Taylor entrance for the lines as well as through the mall so that it's not a "run at full speed" event when they open the doors at 8:00 am.

The info women at the mall said the doors to the mall will open at 800 am but I'm sure they'll open earlier. For the iPhone launch last year, the line up started at the door.

Definitely don't want to spend the night on the sidewalk, but I'm sure there will be a TON of folks there.

There will probably be enough iPhones to just show up during the day, but any White 16GB units will prolly sell out quickly.

I'll do a late night drive-by the AT&T store at Redmond Town Center and judge the craziness there. No doubt there's already someone with a sleeping bag in front of there now!

I'm now thinking about going to the midnight Hellboy showing and then head over to the mall soon afterwards- at around 2 A.M. It ain't a bad way to distract you from the tickling countdown to the launch of iPhone 3G.:D

    Wow.

I keep getting conflicting opinions on how long the line will be. I'm still thinking I'll show up early morning tomorrow. I'm not so sure I want to camp out, but I may head over at 6ish. I probably won't be able to sleep because I'll be so excited.

I too heard the info about the ann taylor entrance and 8 am mall doors opening. I have a feeling they'll open the doors early and let people line up near apple nearing 8...

How long do you all think the line will be by 6 a.m.? I'm NOT going to ATT even thought I'm porting a number. Apple store it is!

*Take this with a grain of salt but I heard elsewhere that extra ATT reps may also be at Apple stores to help with activation.

    For what it's worth:

Bellevue Square Mall will be opening doors to allow people to line-up inside the mall at 6:00am. Prior to 6:00am they will not allow people to line-up outside the mall, while I'm sure there will be people who try to despite this it's hard to say how they plan on enforcing it.

Personally, I plan to arrive before 6am and see how things look. I can wait in my car until 6am if neccesary.

Also, once Apple opens their doors they will be letting groups of 30 people in at a time. They expect to get through 100 customers per hour.

Any indications on what supply will be? Somewhere I read 800-1000 units per Apple Store. A guy I talked to at the AT&T store in Seattle said "Oh... we'll have a lot, maybe even 100," which doesn't sound like a lot to me. I'm not sure about Bel Square lineup. Last year, they had lots, for anyone to buy at 8:30 pm, no waiting. Not sure if this year will be the same, better or worse.

If anyone wants to hang out all night, I started the line at the Southcenter Apple store and have a few friends coming down later.
