iPad-Pro-12.9-inch-250x281.jpg
For today only, Best Buy is offering $125 off its entire selection of 12.9-inch iPad Pros, including the 256GB WiFi + Cellular version in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray.

Apple's latest top tier cellular-equipped 12.9-inch iPad Pro is currently priced at $1,104.99, rather than the recommended retail price of $1,229, while the 128GB cellular version is tagged at $954.99, compared to Apple's RRP of $1,079. The 256GB 12.9-inch iPad Pro sans cellular is also on sale at the online store for $974.99 (RRP $1,099).

Meanwhile, Best Buy's stock of 128GB Wi-Fi-only 12.9-inch iPad Pros are on offer for $824.99 (RRP $949), although potential buyers of the non-cellular version at the middle tier capacity may want to check in at Staples first with their Best Buy Price Match Guarantee in mind.

As if in response, the office supplies retailer is running its own one-day-only deal, offering an even more attractive $150 discount on its stock of 128GB 12.9-inch iPad Pros in all colors, now costing just $799 each. Meanwhile the 32GB capacity has had $100 slashed off its price tag, now on sale for $699 (RRP $799).

Darn! If I hadn't gotten my mini 4 from Best Buy during Black Friday when they dropped $100 off the price, I'd def consider this. Oh well, might as well wait for gen 2 optimized for iOS X and with true tone and 3d touch display (Fingers crossed not delayed another year with iPad being the only product line which does not incorporate it somehow)

You'll probably have to order online, I tried to get a Staples Air 2 deal and they only kept 16GB in stock.

Lol wouldn't be surprised if this went down even more. Even my dad, the biggest Apple fanatic, got tired of the huge size and sold it off on eBay. "What's the point of this? Might as well just use my MBA"

Completely agree. That's why I bought the 9.7. If I didn't have a MacBook, I'd consider the 12.9. But it's just too big for me.

Different strokes I guess. I just bought a 12.9 on eBay last month and I've used it almost exclusively for two weeks. I love it.

I think they dropped the price of the 12.9" iPad Pro down $100 when the 7.9" version was introduced. They were also offering $200 off if you did a 2-year agreement with one of the big four carriers. I was going to just add a line to my MobileShare anyways, so the 2-year agreement would have been fine with me, but they wanted to charge me activation fees which I don't pay for on my account.

I just can't imagine buying another iPad ever again. I still have a Mini 2 that I barely use.

Ever since the large screened phones came out, it kind of made having an iPad well, pointless for me.

These iPad Pros are going on sale so much. They're probably not selling as well as they had hoped.
On sale so much? Where?

By that token the Galaxy S7 must not be selling well either as I'm always seeing BOGO commercials on TV from the carriers.

I honestly can't see myself using an iPad as a replacement for any computer. Solely relying on iOS is a joke, no mouse support, and having the baseline product at 32GB is laughable.

I'm with you. I have tried it but I still needed my laptop. I can't just plug devices to the iPad like I can do on a laptop, and no file system.

Only compelling way they'll draw anyone who wants a laptop computer is:
2 USB ports
1 SD card slot
Mouse compatability
OSX, or some sort of hybrid between iOS and OSX for the iPad
128GB storage as the initial one

Maybe because it has a touch screen, Retina display, weighs less, more portable, runs iOS instead? That enough?

That's not a convincing argument to replace a computer for it.
Who says it has to replace a computer? That's what apple wants but why can't it just be an alternative to carrying a clamshell laptop around with a crappier screen?

Sure, I'm not saying it has to, but what's the point in shelling out $700+ for a tablet for the purposes of being an alternate to a laptop, when it's inferior in every aspect?

Flimsy stand with horrible keyboard, no mouse support, having to use apps and websites in iOS, the list can go on. If you're the type of person who just uses the iPad for Safari, YouTube, and Email, and want to throw away money instead of getting a decent laptop, go ahead.

Just check the 9to5Toys page, they post sites that have sales on iPad Pros all the time.

I think it's a little different with the S7. They do the BOGO sales to increase initial demand for the product whereas the iPad Pro's frequent minimum $100 off sales seem to indicate the product was priced too high to begin with.
