I was wondering what people think of are some of the best console games up until now.

    Some of my favorites include...
    *NES*
    -All the Mario brothers games.
    -Battletoads
    -Battletoads and Double Dragon
    -Metal Gear
    -Tetris
    -Ninja Gaided 1-3
    -Contra
There are many more, I cant really name them all for NES.

    *SNES*
    -Megaman
    -Super Mario World
    -Battletoads in Battle Maniacs
    -Super Mario all-stars
    -Killer Instict
    -Super Mario RPG
    -Zelda
    -Super Mario Kart
    -Mortal Kombat II
    -TMNT Turtles in Time
    -Contra III- Alien wars
Again, so many games and these are the ones I still play.

    *Genesis*
    -Sonic (all of them)
    -Battletoads
    -Toe Jam & Earl
-Streets of Rage 1-3 (not so much 3, but still ok)
    -TMNT
    -X-men
    -Punisher
    -Super Street Fighter II
    -Aladdin
    -Lion King (Good Disney Games)
-Contra Hard Corps (not the most true to the contra series, but still a good shooter)
    -Robocop vs Terminator

I will post more later, but I'm gunna have to go...

Don't you just appreciate people that leave in the middle of their own statements?

    Nintendo 64:
    Goldeneye 007

My other favorites include Rush 2049, San Fransisco Rush (but not the second one...) and Virtual Pool 64 (which I broke two copies of)

    xBox:
Tony Hawk 4, Project Gotham Racing, and perhaps later on Need For Speed: Underground

    Agreed on most of those.

But hands down, my all time favorite game is the original Zelda on NES. It was the only game cart that was gold at the time. NES Ice hockey was good too.

As for pre-NES, I think it was intellivision that had BurgerTime. That was a stupidly addictive Lode-Runner type game.

SNES: Zelda, Link to the Past.

    PSOne: Coolboarders, Final Fantasy 7.

PS2: Final Fantasy X, Metal of Honor, GTA3 and Vice City, Metal Gear Solid,

    Xbox: Halo (duh...), Splinter Cell.

No way. You like billiards for Nintendo 64 as well? :D

But, nah, that's no mirror. Unless you enjoy playing 80's Tetris with a 90's GameBoy Color more than any other equal platform game.

what about handhelds, who else had a Game Gear?
some memorable games: Sonic Triple Trouble, The other myriad of Sonic games including Tails adventure and Sonic Drift 2, Shinobi 2, Mortal Kombat, Ecco 2 Tides of Time, Ninja Gaiden.
It also had an adapter to play all Master System games and the early GG's were compatible with Japanese releases.

NES: Tetris, Super Mario Bros. 2, Mother (Famicom), The Zelda II: The Adventures of Link

SNES: The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country, DKC2, DKC3, Super Mario World, F-Zero, Final Fantasy V (Super Famicom), EarthBound, Super Mario RPG

N64: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Pilotwings64, Star Wars: Rogue Squadron

Game Boy: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Super Mario World 2

    PS1: Final Fantasy VII

PS2: NCAA College Football (any year)

The SNES is the BEST VIDEO GAME SYSTEM EVAR. I had a NES, SNES, and N64 all in perfect condition, but gave them to the youth group in exchange for the drum set. It was a good trade and I can still play them anytime I like at the church!

Every so often I still go on a SNES emulator kick, playing my favorite old-school games with my iBook and my trusty iShock II. Good times.
