Ok heres my setup. Mbp which I use at work and at home but has my itunes films, music, videos etc. Just got atv. As I dont want to fill up any more valuable space on my mbp, what is my best option for storage. I intend ripping lots of old family videos and ideally want them available to atv without having mbp running. Go easy on me as I'm nearly in my fifties and sometimes its a struggle keeping up with technology

At the moment, a full version of iTunes has to be running in order to stream video to the new :apple:TV. Current NAS (network attached storage) drives that run iTunes are not able to play video, which means you'll have to leave your MBP on. This may change as time progresses, but for the time being your best bet is to store your media on an external hard drive.
