    Just ordered:

    1GB 1.83 17" iMac 250GB HD.

    1GB 1.83 white Macbook.

One for home. One for roam.

Sacrificed a bit of top end grunt. But surely the best of both worlds for the same (UK) price as a 17" MPB aint bad?

buying 2 macs instead of one will boost the apple marketshare :)
if everyone would do that, we have 10% until the end of the year...

I've got an iMac + iBook setup and wouldn't swap it for the world. I don't recommend this to most people, but maybe look into .Mac (if you don't already have it) to easily keep them synced up. :)

    Best of both worlds 2!

    Just ordered:

MacBook Black standard. Will add extra ram myself.

23" ACD (for when I need to see that bit more!)

Applecare (If you buy at the same time, covers the display for three years too.)

    Education discount!

    6 Months interest free credit!

    What more could anyone want?

Oh yeah, mini DVI thrown in too!:D

while it seems like a decent idea, i can't do without Motion anywhere, so i'm a little stuck for the iMac / MB option, which otherwise, I'd love.

and how on earth was the iMac/MB option cheaper than a 17" MBP? I'm seeing the MBP for £1,614....

For a business/school/some other type place, of course.

God I wish I could be able to unpack a Mac shipment like that someday. Like a kid in a candy store. :D

I'll have a similar set up eventually. I'm waiting for a low end Intel Mac tower and possibly slightly faster portables, although not important as the current lineup is great.

    *Ops, please delete* thanks

Can you sync iTunes libraries easily across two Macs? That's the only thing I can think of that'd be a problem because I like having the whole library with me when I travel.
