Me and three other friends are about to buy the new iBook 12". I do know that it isn't the best mac laptop outhere but it is by far the cheapest. What i want is for everyone here to write their recommendation for games that can be played in vs mode; kudos for FPS.

    Thanks in advance!

Quake 3 is a breeze to run on the iBook. UT2004 might run well w/ the new GPUs. Good luck, though.

There's also Diablo (I and II), StarCraft (and Brood War), WarCraft III, Neverwinter Nights, and dozens of other games.

Halo may run... there's a demo out there that you can try.

Halo runs on my machine in the sig - but I dunno if the 32MB of VRAM will affect you a lot.

Ah, Halo and Unreal Tournament are never quite as fun in multiplayer as Marathon was...

If you're into real-time strategy or role-playing games, don't miss the wonderful world of Blizzard: Warcraft (even I and II are still fun), Diablo and Starcraft.

My vote is for Warcraft 3. Always a blast to play against your friends.

Well I know this isn't a mac (or computer game for that matter) but go and buy a gamecube and super smash brothers melee. That is by far the greatest party game of all time. It is definately worth the money.

Ditto on this one. It is possible to emulate the original Smash Brothers (from the good old N64 days), but it's not recommended.

There have been problems getting the mods to work with punkbuster and they just patched it so every mod work in MP with PB and runs well

i'll give another vote for Warcraft III and the expansion which can be found in the battlechest for pretty cheap now adays. The game will run really well on the new ibook. here is a link to the amazon.com version which is probably more expensive than at your local gamestore:

You should also try Wolfenstein Enemy Territory because its free.

You should also consider either Jedi Knight II or Jedi Academy
