its a good site but theres a 20mb/month limit on the upload. n it doesnt allow people to view the full resolution.

    other suggestions?

240 total for the free membership, 100 photos per gallery.
the premium service allows 3000 photos... iirc.

    oh.. 240 seems kinda small.
if i take about 100 pics/month. thats only about 2-3 months.

r there other sites?? im kinda having trouble finding one!
(i really like flickr cept the 20mb/month limit)

For (art) photography, the best place I have seen is PBase.com -- it is *not* free, but it is not overly pricey, either. But it offers the best features for that particular community, and it's widely used by photographers.

PS the pricing is $23/yr for 300MB of storage, and it does allow for full-size images, and like Flickr, also dynamically produces scaled versions of your full-size images so that you can inline the smaller version instead of the full size. It also displays EXIF. w00t w00t! :D

I love Flickr so much I actually bought a Pro Membership. $25 for a year is really a good deal in my book. And you get 2 GB upload bandwidth per month.

    flickr..
if i choose to put my photos as private..
would i still be able to share them with others? as in give them a link to it..
rather than public where EVERYONE can see it and even search for it.

I think if they are in your contact list then they can see it....I just went and checked and that is how it works, but it seems that they need to sign up for an account as well in order to be included in your Contact's List. Makes sense i guess, how else would they verify that they are your family. You can also group them as friends, family, or friends and family and share tehm on that basis as well.

FYI: If you do go with Flickr, be sure to get the Flickr plugin for iPhoto. YOu can upload straight from iPhoto to your Flickr account and it automatically fills in the info (Keywords, Comments, Titles, etc.) very useful and one of the things that really pushed me over the edge with Flickr.

well for them to be on my contact list, that would mean they have to have an account at flickr then rite? (n they dont haha)
i just dont want all my pics to be searchable by just any random person thats all.

    iphoto plugin? really? awesome!
i dont really use iphoto (i dont really have the need to... yet). but.. would iphoto be able to resize my pics that i want to upload (so they are smaller). but yet retain the original (in iphoto).

    thanks

Yes the plugin allows for resizing so you can save bandwidth. As far as the contacts go, I agree that having them have an account is kind of lame, but it is free and they may enjoy sharing their photos too. Not sure how Flickr would be able to regulate who can see a photo without using logins and such. Maybe they will add that feature later, it is still in Beta technically.

i think ive found a great site for what i want to do.. which is share photos.. mainly from my camera phone (sonyericsson k750i).

    www.textamerica.com
its mainly for camera phone pics (well at least started out that way).
ive actually used it before but theyve improved it quite a bit since then.

n it has the 2 features i really wanted that flickr doesnt have..
    - unlimited storage/bandwidth
    - ability to view photos at full resolution

i really like the iphoto plugin tho.. anyone know of a similar one for textamerica?

    thanks guys
