I'm curious to see what the biggest size (in disk space) game everyone has. It used to be that I thought a 1GB game was ridiculous...now I'm looking at my largest: 13.18 GB for UT2004 with all the maps, etc. I've installed. How about everyone else?

One of the Myst games was pretty huge...a few gig. I know Half Life 2 on a PC consumes a shed load and most of that is Steam...and it never works.

That sounds strange about HL2 and Steam not working. I've never experienced any problems with either. Nor has any of my friends who also have it. Maybe we're just lucky :)

Yeah, I think UT2004 (with everything installed) is the largest game I've ever come across for install size. Waaaay bigger than any other new games such as HL2 or GTA.

GTA: San Andreas for PC is massive but UT2004 is larger.

Ha ha, we're the flip side! Two of mates had serious login problems, new update problems and they had to reinstall Steam a few times. We had a look on the Valve forums and there seemed to be people with similar problems. It works great as a deployment tool- just not all of the time! Well, for us it seems...

I've had no problems with HL2. There was one time, just a few days after its release that i couldn't download my game on Steam. that was a pain. you pay all this money and you would like your product to work upon returning home! Steam is so flawed its untrue.

but to the topic in hand!

Because i don't really play PC games anymore id have to say my dev folder for my latest game (The New Satan Sam) is a whopping 2GB... for a 2D platformer its pretty big. but it should be only 20-30mb when done. man i love dev folders.

That's what mine started at, but add in a few hundred levels (inc. music, meshes, textures, etc.), character models, vehicles, gametypes...it got pretty big. :p

Thanks for the heads up! I poked deeper into the folder and found that I had the Test Realm patch still installed...which was very large, back down to 4.67 gigs now :-D
