If you didn't catch the Daily Show last night (I saw it by accident), the clips in the link above are pretty funny.

What a shame. They do a better job of "reporting" the news than the vast majority of our journalists.

I forget how funny they are, but more than that, how incredibly well their commentary works. These clips and the jokes Stewart made point out how silly the attacks about the Obama ad are far more effectively than anything I had seen or read. It's effective, it's funny, and it's hard to argue with.

My wife watches both Colbert and Stewart once in a while. I get a chuckle out of some of the satire, but they are definitely bias 100% of the time, and for people who don't like to read or watch the news I guess comedy is the next best way keep them informed.

Really? I suppose there's a chance Colbert and Stewart aren't hardcore democrats.

Most of the people that do commentary shows there are, nobody questions that. Republicans have one TV news source out of how many?

Anything new on daily kos today?

And, frankly, that's one too many. :D

But without it, I'm afraid you folks would have to think for yourselves and frankly, I'm not sure which is worse.

Hey man, I'm not denying the GOP a news channel. I'm just saying that there's almost always a slant one way or another, red and blue.

That's funny, I think for myself and I rarely watch fox news, I watch more MSNBC and CNN than Fox.

According to Wiki Stewart has described himself as a socialist. So between Lawrence O'Donnell and Stewart we have at least two self proclaimed socialist reporting news the way they see fit.

So what? Why are you so scared of others with differing opinions?

I know, I know "we're all socialist now". You are free to be you, at the cost of the wealthy and responsible ones.

EDIT: I'd like to add, it seems the left is the one with an issue with "differing opinions" they want all news sources to slant left. Just look at post #12 for example.

As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about. I earn in the top 5%, I pay way more taxes than you.

I am convinced that right leaning folk were born without a humor gene.

I didn't say you aren't rich nor did I say anything about how much you make.

If you want to do good with your money, why do you trust the government to distribute it the way they want?

Give it to the charity of your choosing. If you give it to the government because you think they know what to do with it better than you, wait until the political winds change and they find other things to do with your money.

You don't have to be a socialist to help people with your money.

    ----------

Oh come on, we've had enough debates to know you don't want right wing radio or TV to exist.

So now I'm a socialist. LOL.

You claim to not watch FOX News yet you spout their talking points and "dirty" words around here quite often.

Are you a socialist? You tell me? According to Newsweek, we all are.

    Really? I do? I wouldn't know. Honestly.

It's actually my goal in life...

And for clarification, which apparently you sorely need...Just because I disagree with Red Sox fans and root against their team doesn't mean I don't want them to exist. Chew on this for a while....

Don't see an issue here really. Stewart even says Obama using OBL's death for political gain was cheap, etc. What he is getting at is the GOP/ the same people who are criticizing Obama now for it have in the past touted Bush's handling of 9/11 and Iraq for political gain as well.

He didn't defend Obama doing it, just pointing out the double standard/hypocrisy.
