Anyone else miss the black of the iPhone 5? I don't want space gray anymore, never really did to begin with. I miss the black slate. Anyone think they'll bring it back for the iPhone 7?

You never know.. they could always bring it back in the future. But as of now, it looks like Space Gray is staying.
Got to stay consistent throughout the lineup. I have friends that have purchased unnecessary products just to match the color of their watch/laptop/phone etc.It really seems like they are full on committed. Space Gray macbook, iPhone, apple watch, iPad

Apple probably calls it Space Gray simply because it's the Silver model with a black front.Especially since 'space grey' has got so light its not a million miles off being aluminium.
IDK. The 5 on the right is exactly why I got my iPhone 5. Defintely one of the major reasons I skipped the 5s!personally i think the space gray iPhone SE is the most beautiful phone ever made.
all black is NOT as beautiful.
Well, if it's about standing out, I guess that one thing. If it's about what looks nice to someone, that's another thing.5S is much more classy. It looks something expensive and refined.
5 is just a black phone..
I guess that's where we disagree then. I'm much more of a black color fan than I am of gray.5S is much more classy. It looks something expensive and refined.

With the iPhone 5 the sides, top, bottom and rear windows are black. The slate part comes in as the back.Im confused why people referred to it as black. Maybe I'm blind but to me its more a of a very very dark grey slate colour? I wish they would do a PURE black colour. Problem is colouring the natural aluminium, so it chips easily. Am I wrong?

That's why it's considered to be Black/Slate. Some people count the front as making a phone "black" but as a frequently used euphemism here states "that's like saying your car is black because the tires are black".
The 5s is Space Gray everywhere there is metal so it's Space Gray - period.
But it's that black color that is on the top, sides and bottom of the 5 that everyone likes so much.
Well. That's why we have Space Gray. Apple simply chose not to do this again instead of fixing their process. The Slate iphone 5 was a beauty... But its anodized aluminum was a nightmare: after a few months it was a mess. I don't think Apple is going to do that again...
