Hi Guys,

I just got a Powerbook for my kid, i do not want her to go online and chat using MSN ( all parents nightmare )

Is there a way to block MSN messenger Port (UDP and TCP 1863) from the computer itself instead of router (it seems my router port filter is not working)

Thanks.

She's using OSX 10.41

Stuck in the middle with you
It's not the prettiest solution, but here it goes. I think you're making it sound like she's the primary user of that computer. If that's the case, Remove MSN messenger and Create a separate administrator account and password protect it. Make your daughter's account a limited one. This will stop her from installing any programs without your administrator password.

I'm not sure how old or intelligent your daughter is, but option number 2 is to just trust her to not invite online strangers over.
