So I got my Verizon iPhone today and I was getting the little blue circle a few times today during activation. I don't really see it anymore, but was curious what it is. I did some research and it looks like its the symbol for GPRS, but I thought GPRS is GSM only. Is that representing EVDO on the CDMA Verizon iPhone?

The round blue circle means you're on 1X on the network. There isn't Edge or GRPS on the Verizon iPhone, there is only 3G and 1X (blue circle) or no service.

I like to call it the blue circle of death. It's soo slow and unfortunately present whenever I'm in my house. Just outside of my house I get very good 3G service. It's incredibly slow and almost unbearable. Anywho, it is indeed the symbol for 1X as previously mentioned.
