My bluetooth keyboard works fine, except for the numeric keypad, and all the other keys on that side (volume control, eject key). Anyway to activate them? I thought the bluetooth keyboard was only needed for installation.

Bluetooth Keyboard IS NOT supported yet in Windows. READ the Bootcamp instructions. How many people post the same question/problem?? :)

To use the numerical key pad, just press the "clear" button. Windows treats it like Num Lock. and the command (apple) key is treated like the "windows" key as well. Haven't figured out the volume controls, eject or F keys 14-16. Other then that, it works just fine. I even do some gamming with it. Just because it's not supported, doesn't me it doesn't work.

Maybe you should go back and read the instructions yourself. They clearly state that the INSTALLER does not support bluetooth. Windows XP via Boot Camp works just fine with Apple's bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

But the problem also arises that bluetooth doesnt kick in quick enough on boot so it doesnt give you chance to press ALT to select OS

    bluetooth combo

Interesting....I'm getting a bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo to use in both osx and xp (even given the limitations) -- what is a good one to get?

Do any of you find it usable with a few keys not working -- or is this limitation just for the apple-branded bluetooth keyboard?

I see some bluetooth k/m that come with bt adapters --- which i guess i don't need for the mbp --- so should i look for a k/m that ships (like the apple branded one, but preferably with two-button mouse) *without* any kind of adapter to avoid the extra cost?

    Hope this makes sense...

Actually, it does. I'm able to hold Option while booting to select a partition to boot into. Everything with the bluetooth keyboard works fine, just the problems I mentioned above.

I think you'll be stuck with an apple branded keyboard, which is probably the best choice anyway. You'll need the eject button if you're using windows (or OSX for that matter), and despite the fact that it doesn't work right now, I'm sure there will be a driver sometime in the near future.

As far as a mouse goes, I would go with a Microsoft or Logitec laser mouse. Not sure which exact models are bluetooth, but I know they do make them.

According to the Boot Camp FAQ, the Eject key is supported under XP:

Anyone else experiencing the problem? Kinda strange how inconsistent it is.

    LOL :D

Yeah strange the intermittance of problems. For example I installed xp and chose ireland as my keyboard, and could never get the eject key to work? Even though F14,F15 for brightness and sound did work?

I did a re-install and left US keyboard as keyboard type and eject key finally works now? BUT when I press F14, to dim display, it also mutes sound?

I know these are probably just beta problems. oh well...

My apple bluetooth keyboard works fine in XP, except for the eject key. This is a problem as I can't install programs that have a multi-disk install routine.

Would my problem be solved if I got a wired apple keyboard?

Worst case you can open a "My Computer" window in the background before installing anything... when its time to switch disks, ALT+TAB to the "My Computer" window, click on the CD drive and on the left side of the window you will see the option to Eject the disc

    bluetooth boot camp issue

I installed boot camp and everything is fine...except the apple bluetooth keyboard does not work at all when in XP. Boot camp driver cd seemed to work/install fine. I've added and removed the bluetooth device (keyboard) several times and it even indicates "connected" and that the device is working properly. Bluetooth mouse works fine. But when I tap on the keyboard...nothing. No keys work whatsoever.

Any ideas on how to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

While in Windows XP, try turning the keyboard off, then on again. Usually works at this point.

    bluetooth sometimes DOESN'T work

i've installed xp and installed drivers (from disc) for OS. A few times, I started XP but my keyboard didn't work at all. I used bluetooth (control panel) to try and relocate the keyboard - nothing. I uninstalled the bluetooth keyboard drivers and reinstalled them... restarted XP but no luck. So I bought a USB keyboard. A few days later.. the keyboard works!!!

    any suggestions for this failure??

Try checking Control Panel, Mouse, Bluetooth Devices, then click on the Option tab. There should be a check for the option to "Turn on Discovery". I'd reboot the computer at this point, let Windows load all the way, then turn your bluetooth keyboard off, then back on again. At this point it should work.

Note: on that Options tab, I have everything checked. My keyboard works well, even when I'm playing WoW or other games.

Hi everyone, I know this topic has been beaten to death most likely but I can't seem to resolve my issue.

I am having a problem with using both my wireless keyboard and mouse in Windows XP. I loaded the Mac Drivers just fine but I can't seem to get Windows to recognize my bluetooth devices. I've tried going to the control panel and turning on discovery but when I try to apply those settings it says Windows was unable to save my settings. I've tried going to add new device as well but it will never pick up the mouse or keyboard.

Is there anything else I can try? I've also removed the Mac Drivers and reinstalled them. It seems everyone has been able to get their wireless mice and keyboards working one way or another. I'm hoping I'll find the solution soon.

    Thanks for any help.

Just seems to work for some and not for others. I couldn't get it to see mine either, regardless of what I did.

    I went back to wired.

What I've noticed is that there is a delay once you turn the keyboard off and on, and the time it becomes usuable and recognized by XP. I'd suggest trying again but waiting from 30 secs to a min or so before you try to use the keyboard.

You might also want to have a look in Control Panel, Bluetooth and see if everything seems to be configured there correctly. Hope that helps.
