Boot without a GUI

    I don't have a need for this now, but who knows -- I might in the future. How do I boot up without a GUI? Boot straight to command line single user mode.

    You hold down Command-S while booting. You will need to manually bring up the disk in read/write mode if you so desire, or else create a script that does so.

    The disk by default mounts read-only, so that fsck can be used....
