Who's going to the Boylston St store in Boston for the iPad 2 launch? Any predictions on how long the line will be?
I was just checking the weather forecast this morning and see that they're predicting rain for Friday. Not good news for those of us planning to wait in line!
I plan on dropping by after work (right around 5) to see how crazy the line is.
While I'd love to buy from the Boylston St store, if it's too crazy I may go try Cambridgeside where I can hit up the Apple Store or Best Buy all in one place (and out of the potential rain).
I'll definitely be checking back here on Friday afternoon to see if anyone has posted about the line...
I would definitely love to hit up the Boylston Street store, since I'm at BU, but I doubt that's happening. Back home in Maine, I waited 13 hours for my iPhone 4...
I might go to the Best Buy on Newbury or hit up the AT&T store at Copley, if that doesn't happen. Not really in a rush to get it though. If I can, then I'll be happy
Lucky bastard. I created a thread for Cambridgeside here.
If there's no activity on the thread tomorrow I'll definitely hit you up to see how the lines are. TIA
i'll be heading to the boylston store since i live about half a mile from there. any ideas what time you guys are planning on going given the forecast for certain rain? i'm hoping that diverts people to southside or the galleria.
also PAX East starts tomorrow, so that may drag in more people than usual.
I'm one of those ******s who will be taking his chances right at 5 (when I can get out of work). If the Boylston St line is too crazy, I'll try Cambridgeside.
If it's too crazy there I'll suck it up and purchase from *gasp* BestBuy.
Thanks for the heads up about PAX East. I'll definitely check with you guys here before committing to Boylston St (I work a few T stops from it).
I know the 3 day PAX East passes are sold out. I don't know about the day passes. If nothing else, I am extremely happy it's not being held at Hynes this year.
As of 10:30 this morning, there's a line of 5 sad souls standing in the rain outside the Apple Store on Boylston St. I'll try to get a photo next time I walk by. Planning to go over myself and join the line around 3 or 4.

I'm currently in line. The gated area just filled so about 50 people and growing somewhat constantly at about one per minute. Message me on twitter (@cdkii) if you want an update.

There's over 100 people @ Cambridge side. But apple said they have plenty. Im at Bestbuy here and there are 6 people in line.

So I just got in line. At about 3, I'm halfway to newbury st. on Fairfield. This is nuts! I asked the apple guy here if they have enough and I just got "not sure, but if you want one definitely stand in line". I'm gonna be really pissed if I stand here for 2 hours and not get one.
