I'm about to buy my first Mac, getting an iBook G4 12", and was wonder if there's any good apps to "burn in" the unit. By this, I mean when I've put together all of my past systems, whether running Windows or FreeBSD, I'd do something to try to test the hardware stability, such as either doing a Make World in BSD or running Prime95 overnight in Windows. Both of those will stress the CPU and memory subsystems. Anything similar for OS X?

The iBook should come with a hardware test CD, run that. If it reports any problems call AppleCare for service otherwise just use as normal and see if any problems occur.

I don't think traditional "burning in" is really applicable on any computer system these days.
