IIRC, wearing unearned hardware is one of the most dishonorable things one can do in the military.
Wasn't there an Admiral who committed suicide over such a flap when caught wearing two tiny pins (unearned) in the fruit salad on his shoulder? The average person would think it no big deal.
i'm anxiously anticipating the spin which will demonstrate how wearing an undeserved and unawarded pin is better than wearing an undeserved but awarded pin.
Kerry threw his earned medals away, tossing them into the grass
Bush put on unearned medals but kept them, honoring the integrity they stand for
Who has more respect for his medals?
Vote Bush or die at the hands of 9/11 terrorists[/'publican spin machine]
Hmm... I wonder how the SVBT folks will feel about this should it prove to be true. Somehow I'm guessing they'll still like Bush and hate Kerry.
Also I'm curious how those who rip Kerry apart for his 'purple heart band aid' on this board will respond to these charges. Probably in much the same way as the swift boat vets...
I did not serve, but have many friends and family who did.
To wear a medal he was not awared, then to have his buddies criticize vetrerans, like McCain, Cleland, Kerry and Kerry's fellow sailors is just outrageous.
Bush should be ashamed of himself.
The silence is deafening!
What did you say? (I can't hear you over the silence.)
I thought my hearing had packed up...
