You call it: crap or credible?

If nothing else, it's kinda scary that we have to ask the question nowadays.

Utterly credible. US troops have shot up journalists on several occasions. No surprises there, except that the poodle barked at all.

I wouldn't call un unnamed source credible - plausible perhaps.

I'll go with that if it makes you happy: utterly plausible.

I guess I just don't see how this would work. "Let's go bomb Al Jazeera - oh wait, we better talk it over with Blair first." I think if they were going to do it, they'd just go ahead and do it, Chinese Embassy style. Why get Blair's opinion or let him know its in the works?

Maybe they wanted to sub-contract the job to the SAS.

Now we're heading away from plausible, I feel.

I find it plausible. The same "brains" that thought we'd be welcomed as liberators would think that blowing up AJ would let us control the flow of information in the Arab world.

Well that depends. Which Bond are we talking about here? I can see Connery pulling it off, but not Moore.

Indeed. And teach those pesky rag-heads to publish any real news. "You're either with us, etc..."

    Here we go:

I think we're moving from "plausible" through "credible" to "fully substantiated" at quite a pace here. I wonder how they feel in Qatar about their American guests now?

It's definitely firming up. Can somebody leak this document to me please? I want something to read on the Metro.

I have no idea how the press would respond to this. I can't imagine they'd be real happy at the idea of the government blowing up reporters.

Creditable. Fortunately there are sane people out there ( Not that I like Blair - but he is far more restrained that Bush ) that have successfully calmed down Bush - without this factor - God knows where we'd be know.

It was reported that Blair also stopped GW Bush invading Iraq too quickly - he made him see that a period of reflection and thought would be good. Consider the options before doing something too stupid.

I believe there would be more than a scent of credibility there for one central reason. Whenever someone in the White House states that they are so offended by the suggestion that they will not even "dignify something so outlandish with a response," you need to be on full red alert. Something is amiss in Dubya-Dick land, where the only things believable are those that they designate as such.
