As if it weren't bad enough that he choked on a pretzel and fell off of the segway, Bush has now fallen off of his bicycle. He must have predicted it though; he was riding with his doctor, and not only did he wear his helmet, he wore mouthgear as well.

Like no one here has every fallen off their bike, nor choked on food. And if I was going on a 17 mile off-road bike ride I'd probably wear a mouthpiece & helmet too.

You'd wear a mouthpiece? That's surprising. I would think you more adventurous than that. In fact, you're the first person (actually, the second since this story) I've ever heard to wear mouthgear for riding a bicycle.

Well, at least the president wasn't riding and eating a pretzel at the same time. ;) By the time he's done, he may make Gerald Ford look like a gymnast.

If I was going on a 17 mile off-road bike ride yes. I'd rather sport a mouth piece than bite my tongue or chip a tooth. Especially if I was the Pres and had to deliever a speech in couple of days. Bush has enough problems speaking w/o having a swollen tongue and sounding like that character from Fat Albert that no one could understand. :D

Nowhere in the CNN article does it say that it was an 'oof-road" bike ride but then again with his track record they probably have him wear a mouthpiece just riding around the driveway.

Cue rainman: "dad says I'm a very good driver"

what's next on his soundibte aganda? - "if ya can't ride a schwinn the "terrists" win"

It happens...even to more realistic presidents like Jeb Bartlet (see:first episode of series he runs into a tree).

Damn this guy is an idiot....he cant chew a pretzel, and he is probably the only person in the world who has figured out how to knock a Segway off balance....thats a "talented" "man" right there folks :D

Doesn't President Bush have to wear a helmet everywhere he goes?

Unless he paved his ranch I think it's safe to assume it was off-road.

Perhaps this is over the top, but I can't resist:

I say we have the Army Rangers surround the offending stone or crevice that dropped the Prez, laser mark it from an orbiting satellite, and then send in B52s, F-16s or any other combination of letters and numbers to level it, so as to make America a safer country for all Americans to ride there bikes in. (It would be good for the economy too since the armed forces would have to purchase added fuel and munitions to replace what they expend....and they could put in a Walmart on the newly cleared and leveled land)

It's too bad they don't have video of this. Like when he hit his head on the plane, tripped, and the list goes on. Anyone watch the clips that Letterman shows? Those always crack me up :D

oh well. he must just be out of practice i guess.

i actually stacked my BMX the other day as well... very embarassing actually. i was just getting over the flu, but thought i was good enough to go for a ride. i was just riding in a straight line, where there's a 2 foot high concrete wall and about 1/2 meter or pavement to ride on, right next to the road. so i was thinking, 'okay, stay as far away from the road as possible'.

then i must have drifted, and my front peg hit the wall, and the bike kind of went sideways, i thought for a second i would hit the ground face first, but funnily enough i landed on my feet.

perhaps he was just getting over the flu as well?

LMAO yeah combat experience... experience at DRAFT DODGING perhaps! :)

my favourite line in the article... "Bush also grazed himself in 2002, when he fell over after choking on a pretzel"

:D at least we know america is run by a competent literate and wise man... LMAO

Hmm, now that would be in line with his environmental attitude. Pave it all! ;)

While I'm certainly no fan of the man, these kinds of things happen. Just like the pretzel incident, it will be a pretty juvenile and meaningless thing to bring up when trying to convince others that he shouldn't get four more years.

    It happens to everyone.

Clinton tore an ACL when he was walking down some stairs (3 actually).
He also got a cut on the forehead early on in his administration that was attributed to tripping on a rug. Both of those were first term.

41 honked on the Japanese Prime Minister.
