    Well, here's something from which I can derive a little schadenfreude.

    And while it interests me, what will interest me most is what this translates into in the November elections.

    One might argue that by defying Bush on this ports issue, Republican incumbents in Congress are actually increasing their chances for re-election.

    That is a disconcerting thought. I guess all we can hope for is yet another scandal linked to Republicans. :rolleyes:

    The administration has been waddling and quacking for nearly a year. The big Social Security overhaul plan belly-flop was the first sign that it was all over but the shouting.

    Wow, and after such a rocket-like ascendancy to 42%...

    His support only falls below 40% if he pisses of his base -- which this Dubai deal is obviously doing. After so many years of intentionally blurring the lines between Arabs, Bush is reaping what he has sowed.

    Rove has already outlined the plan for November, post elections, we are going to see how long the fear of terrorism can be exploited.

    The fear of communism had enough tread to keep rolling for decades.
