Wow, that DSlite looks amazing. Anyone know how he accomplishes that zoom effect when you click on the pictures? Also, the shopping cart for the t-shirts on the panic site is awsome as well.

I'm positive he created the zoom thing himself using Javascript, have a look at the source maybe?

His site is terrible. I care not for features when they're buggy. just zooming into an image and the video overlaps all. thats helpful. give me a pop up window anyday!

anywho. I'd like a DS Lite. I'm hoping to get a Micro and hide all my previous Nintendo machines away. Rev, Micro, DS. Life would be grand.

He could probably fix that if he had the video in a separate div and made its z-index less than div with the pictures. I think the picture effect is cool, I'm gonna try to figure it out.

Has anybody dismantled the white protective cartridge you put in the GBA slot? I'm curious to see if those metallic pins are made for anything else beside to secure the thing in place.

I love the second video. Froot loops are funny. Nice viewing angle (especially compared to the old DS fat).

And by the way. My pre-order for the DS has obviously not shipped yet. :/

Gah! It's a toss up between the next iPod or a DS Lite. That video is just wonderful. It's so beautiful. And the Micro.

Right! sell my 1 man game company, buy everything that's pretty in the world.

Sadly, browsers render EMBED-basde content (Quicktime movies, Flash movies) at the highest possible level -- there's literally no way to get a DHTML DIV to display above a Quicktime movie. Not my fault! Totally the browser! No workaround! The zooming works every other time! :)

Anyway, thanks for the feedback, everyone!

I feel a little embarrassed now

Sorry mate! but fantastic vids. I had to view the page source code and copy the .mov address into Quicktime. I think I broke QT on my machine

I have a wee request though. How about a comparison shot of all handhelds with their backlights on the brightest? I was blown away by the Micro's brightness, so to have a good comparison against that would be utterly fantastic.

I'm thoroughly disappointed...when I saw "Panic" I for some reason thought the old SegaCD game Panic...which if that dude was like...ON a DS Lite I'd order one right now.

But wow, if nothing else, the zoom effect of the pictures is pretty sweet, as is the system itself. Can't wait til they hit stateside.

Cabel, how did you achieve the picture zoom affect? I assume you used some sort of modified scriptalicious libs, or even something you designed yourself. So basically, how did you do it, and where can I get the code :D

Oh, and uh, your review was nice too.:p

Hey Cabel Dude, give us another video of you playing one of your games so we can see the real comfort level of the DS lite in your hands and the shoulder bottons.

Just for reference. You probably shouldn't use it without his permission.

Another question I just though about about the DS Lite:

On the original DS, it was very difficult to adjust volume at the lower levels. (Next to impossible) Has this been fixed?

I like the redesign, it seems very apple-inspired which can't be a bad thing ;)

The Fruit Loop confetti was pretty funny. The DS Lite looked nice, too.
