So someone recently asked me how this worked so this is what i got - the two levels i tried were the first two. my specs are: black macbook - 2.0 ghz, 1 GB Ram, GMA 650

all of this is at 1024x764 (highest resolution possible on macbook).so a lower res will probably make it perform even better.

normal graphics: very smooth and graphics are still good
high graphics: still smooth and only significantly slows down at times of smoke + many people shooting at you
extra graphics: perfectly smooth EXCEPT WHEN ANYBODY AT ALL IS SHOOTING AT YOU

remember this is call of duty 2 on osx
    hope this helps

There is significant slowdown regardless of system when there is smoke on COD2.

PC version suffers. 360 version suffers and mac version suffers. More to do with the engine than the hardware.

The highest resolution? Maybe its the highest 4:3 res on a Macbook? Try finding an option to switch to 16:10 aspect ratio, or cycle through all available resolutions and you may find 1280x800 option :)

Wow so this means CoD2 is actually playable (that means default settings) on a MacBook (2.0GHz, 2GB RAM)?

I'm going to try the demo on my 1.83GHz 512MB MacBook. I'm not expecting anything wonderful with 512MB RAM.
