Scheduled to be released this fall (Q4 2006), for "next gen systems". (Though, they do list "Nintendo Revoution"...)

I can't believe we're already going to be seeing a sequel to CoD2. I, for one, am very excited.

Unfotunetly the E3 trailer is misleading. the cod3 part at the end of the trailer is just pre-rendered video made to look like a game experience. I hate when they do that.

It will probably look not much different to COD2.

Also annoying for me as well.

Seems to be a bit early for the game though IMO.

i just got a 360 and started playing CD2 and wow!

i am addicted to CD2 online, and i would not consider myself a "gamer".

will definately be excited to see this...

I agree. I really can't believe they're coming out with it this soon but I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

What makes you say that? I'm not disagreeing, I just want to know how you came to that conclusion.

If it is coming out this fall then it is very likely far enough along to have actual footage.

It's blatantly obvious. There's very little evidence of real generated graphics, the details on screen is too much in comparison to COD2, there's no jaggies on any part of it and it's too free to be gameplay. Your not going to be able to fight hand to hand like that period.... Also only a year after cod2 do you think that graphics will have suddenly improved 3-4 fold in that time? And it also bears an uncanny resemblance to the COD2 Tv trailer which they later had to put ontop 'footage not actual gameplay' because of advertising standards clamped down on them....

Nah its a movie, pure and simple :D

Well, it's out... My copy should be here shortly.

Anyone who's played it want to share first impressions?

Apparently it's awesome. There are no FR problems even with smoke, and thankfully the lag on multiplayer that plagued the original for months before they released the patch has been vanquished.

My mate was playing a 24 player match and he said it was utterly amazing.

This version was built with 360 as the primary development (rather than pc like the last) so that may explain why its technically a lot better than the last on the console.

The best call of duty yet ? I have high hopes now...

Great so far....haven't played it online. I have a feeling I'll be spending more time on this than GOW.

I think i was swayed by the 1up review.

The game is good- good graphics, better weapons, etc. But the play is extremely linear... like "gun down that 10 foot wide path until you get to that field over there, shoot everyone around, and then follow your objectives to the next 10 foot path". Seems like a step back from CoD 2. But it's still fun, and I can't wait to try multiplayer once the housemates come back.

    yes,,,

It's pretty friggin sweet. 24 players. some vehicles: tanks, motorcycles, and trucks with mounted guns.

the levels are friggin huge and intricate. Even with 24 people the stages sometimes seem large...

You can use rifle grenades, mines and a few other cool weapons now. you can also bake the grenades with a little meter now when you throw them. the sound is awesome, and people actually call out in pain now when shot so that you can better anticipate an enemy..

All in all from what I have played so far it's rockin.

Now for gears of war tomorrow.

OK, whatever anyone says (including myself) about the campaigns being somewhat lousy...

The multi is awesome. you can now also sign guests on to Live with you, so you can play as a team. fiiiinally. Has anyone figured out if there's co-op campaign yet?

24 people online is incredible. It's so much more chaotic and fast-moving than Call of Duty 2, plus with the use of classes instead of being able to do whatever teamwork is more important.

And vehicles are fun too. :D
