The Widget works great, but I was wondering if it has any negative side effects.

    Is it really for free?

i'm using it as well, but was a bit concerned about the "for free" phrase. There are not too many things around, which are "really" for free.

I'm continuing using it and it's still free, I guess. I don't have a contract and my balance didn't go down.

There are many free text messaging gateways, so I don't think that's as much of a surprise. As far as the voicemail calling, they're essentially just changing the auto-forward number on your cellphone for unanswered calls to their number. That's something I think you can do on most cells from the settings, yourself, if you wanted to.
