So here's the deal: I have a Sony 7.2MP digital camera and was out taking some pictures on Lake Superior. It has a 512MB memory card in it. I took a bunch of pictures, then deleted them by dragging them to the trash, but then failed to empty the trash. Then I just pulled the plug on the cable. No big deal, really. Well, so I took a bunch more pictures, some of which were really amazing. I connected my camera to my MacBook, turned it on and the memory stick icon appeared. After clicking on it, the folder that contains the pictures was missing! I have no idea where the files went. The indicator on the camera shows the space is being used up by something, and the Finder shows the space is being used up. I thought the files may have been hidden, but a search for hidden files with a .jpg extension only reveals the files that I had trashed earlier, but never emptied. On my Windows partition, only the ".trashes" folder and the trashed files within showed up. I have no idea what could have happened! Where did the files go? Is there any way to try and recover these? Heck, I have a picture of a 12 foot Lake Sturgeon that decided to surface. This would be cool to actually have some pictures of and to recover these files.
