So I have a wireless network at home. A linksys. It gets everywhere in the house except for one room and I don't understand why. I'm thinking of buying another router or something to extent the range into that one bedroom. Can an airport express be set to boost the range of the current wireless or does that airport express act only as a router? If anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, you can use WDS with AirPorts and Linksys routers. I haven't tried it, but I don't think it's terribly difficult to achieve.
