I'm thinking of getting a new iPod to replace my old 30GB model. The thing is, I also use it as a hard drive. But I hear these newer models can't be used as HD's anymore. Is this true?

pretty sure it depends on which iPod you're talking about. iPod touch can't technically, or at least not right out of the box. It won't show up on your desktop is what I'm getting at. You can still get files on there with apps like Air Sharing. The iPod classic I can't say for sure since I don't have one, but my last impression was that you could use it as a HD.

Yes, you can with the iPod classic

YES! That's the exact info I needed. I should have specified iPod Classic. That's what I want. Thank you cawesjmu.
