Can I pod play my movies?

    Can any movie file that I put in my itunes library that plays within itunes work on the ipod video?

    Basically, no.

    You need to encode it specifically for the iPod, either with QT Pro, FFmpeg or Handbrake (if you're going straight from DVD)

    I would export it to the iPod video in quicktime pro and it would work. Not all movies that play in your itunes library will work on the ipod video.

    Apple's website has the video requirements for playback on the iPod.

    As for how to get them to those requirements there are a stack of threads already.
