Cannot and will not connect to itunes?

I have 2 ATV's . When I try to got to purchase a show or movie off itunes the one downstairs says "cannot connect to itunes", the one upstairs says "accessing itunes" and never completes the task. Any ideas what may be going wrong????

Is the computer that contains the library they are trying to access logged in to the user who's library that is? What I mena is, is iTunes not only launched by the user that is logged in is the same user who's library the AppleTV is being directed to?
