I have a CD in my iMac that I'm unable to eject. I was able to download the music on the CD to iTunes but when I tried to eject it afterward I was unable to.

The CD isn't showing up in Disk Utility, the Desktop, my Finder or in iTunes. My iMac is trying to eject it but can't.

I've tried shutting down, restarting and ejecting from System Utilities. Nothing is working.

My computer's about 3 years old and otherwise works great.

Any ideas would be most appreciated - thanks!

Thanks for your responses...I've tried all of this stuff and nothing worked.

Is there any truth to using the combo of an unfolded paper clip and another CD to get it out? I don't want to damage the drive of course, so I'm a little unsure about that one.

I don't know what else to do.

I sure wouldn't try that, as you could end up with a paper clip stuck in your drive.
