Can't install OSX Yosemite won't accept my iTunes name and password

Hi,

I recently bought a very nice well taken care of 2011 Macbook Pro. Brought it home and erased everything and installed the OSX Yosemite and it then prompted me to enter my iTunes id and password which it would not accept. It came up with the error "This item is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"

Please help I am very frustrated and don't know what to do.

Do you have a working internet connection?

Can you log into the apple site with your iTunes ID?

It sounds like iTunes or the Itunes ID server may be offline.

Yes I check I had internet connection. I signed in to iTunes on my other laptop no problem.
