Using OS 10.8.5 I have made a .sparseimage file of a TM disk and now want to restore it with Disk Utility but I keep getting invalid parameter or resource busy. In CCC I get a message that disk image files can only be restored in block mode, which is greyed out for my sparseimage. Can I just mount the disk image and copy the time machine backup folder back to the Time Machine disk? If not, how does one restore a sparseimage file?

Update: I tried mounting the sparseimage file in the finder and copying the "backups.backupdb" folder back to the Time Machine drive but got a message that it could not be done as "ownership in the backup volume is not enabled."
