Cant view local server if not connected to internet?

in panther i could view my local server at 127.0.0.1. On tiger, the only way i can view it is if im connected to the internet. am i doing something wrong or is there something i need to change to set it back to the other way?

I don't have tiger but here's a couple of suggestions. Have you tried "localhost"? or have you tried your computer name?

yea, on panther it was 127.0.0.1/~username/ . any idea of how to set it back that way?
