Learned the hard way, not through CPW but through storefront in the US where they appeared to be offering additional insurance but it happened to be nothing more than a $200 fee that never paid out as they somehow had a rebuttal to every single claim.

This happened to me in the Carphone Warehouse (CPW) in Manchester.

I had a full on argument with the salesman about his illegal attempts to sell me their insurance.

I also made a complain to the CPW head office and was assured it was a one off case and wouldnt happen again.

I did tell them I would be complaining to the FSA & O2 if they carried on and took no action.

2 weeks later they are still at it. So today I have put in an official complaint to the FSA about their illegal activities.

If if wasnt for the fact that the local CPW didnt have a queue I would never shop at one and have avoided them for years. Their sales people are some of the worst in the country and I have never had a good experience with that company.

I Think Apple need to move very quickly to distance themselves from Carphone Warehouse, even to the extent of barring them from selling their product on their behalf!

It's about time such shoddy practices were highlighted as being illegal and immoral! (it's not the first time Watchdog has shown the practice of paying commission on insurance sales to incite lies and other nefarious sales tactics!)
