sorry couldn't resist. All i saw on the MacRumors summary on the side were things like "ata or sata" "xbox or mac" etc etc :)

    Anyway, worthwhile question. Answer it.

Me - Dog. But must have a big hard drive.

I thought this was going to be a thread about what genus the next generation Mac OS will be named after. I don't think it could be dog, assuming that it has to be a wild species (fox, coyote, dingo, wolf ...?)

    Anyway, I'm dog person.

No, I mean cat. Dogs can be stupid.

No, I mean dog. Dogs are loyal and fun, cats are aloof and unpredictable.

No, I mean cat. Cats really like me.

    Oh, I don't know, can't I be both?

But all the cats with OSX so far aren't exactly house pets....dogs for the most part are, with a few exceptions...

    OSXI - Hyena?
    OSXI.1 - Wolf
    OSXI.2 - Dingo....

For an OS name, cats are fine with me, for a pet, I'll stick with the dog...

because they have catchier names? Imagine Mac OS X Cocker-spaniel. It doesn't have the same ring as Jaguar.

Maybe they should go after naming for dogs.

My dog, Chewey, a flat-coated lab-chow mix is the most loyal, intelligent thing with 4 feet.

Not if you have a litter box.....

I enjoy going for walks/runs with my dog, throwing the ball or frisbee and swimming/boating/kayaking....not something you'd do with a cat.

True, but a better and friendlier way of saying the same:

I think Greyhound may be more appropriate, although there may be some hesitancy to link it to an aging bus company...

    Maybe a Whippet instead...

I'm a dog person also, have been all my life. Can't remember ever being without a dog.

I would certainly second or third the motion for Apple to use dogs as the code name for the next generation Mac OS after X.
