Has there been a change in the way the bulletin board works?

Generally when I come here, I browse through the new posts, then go to my user content page to see if I missed reading threads that I am participating in.

Starting sometime yesterday (I think) I've stopped being automatically subscribed to threads I post in. So now I have no way to quickly look for activity in my active threads.

I haven't changed any settings in my account, and I'm posting from the same computer(s) I always do.

    nothing's changed from my end

you may want to check your user preferences/control panel to see if an option can be changed.

    [Edit removed now needless post]

Okay, I found the problem. I recently turned off the email notification to reduce my email traffic.

It turns out that auto-subscribing is intrinsically linked to email notification so when you lose one you lose the other.

I guess I'll leave email on, and use procmail to dump the notifications I don't want to see.
