Changing resolution gives horrible grinding noise

So, my MacBook is running Windows in Bootcamp, projecting to my TV over HDMI. Now, for some odd reason, when I change resolution of games the computer sometimes a horrible BZZZ noise as if the fan got stuck or something. This only seems to happen once after every sleep/restart, and it doesn't repeat itself afterwards. The fans also spin fine and I have no problems with overheating.

What is this nasty sound?
