Hi I am a new Mac using, and I have discovered a little problem. Everytime I change make a major change in the System Preferences eg.Changing the language settings and having to restart the computer, I notice that once it restarts I have lost all my previous settings, such as desktop background, everything in ical and all my emails.

I am currently on a 12inch powerbook, running OSX 10.3.7

    Thanks

    Try repairing your disk permissions.
In Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
Click on your hard disk on the left pane, then click the Repair Disk Permissions button on the lower portion of the window.

Then try changing your settings and restarting, and see if that doesn't help.
