    Hi there,

I was interested to read on Apple's information pages for iMovie ( that iMovie 6 supports chapter markers in a movie, enabling easy navigation of a video Podcast, for example. In my mind, this is similar to Apple's Chapter Tool used for creating enhanced audio (AAC) Podcasts... However, I just wondered if anyone who actually has a copy of iMovie 6 could confirm exactly how this feature works i.e. create a quick test movie with chapters and see if it is navigable (user is able to skip between chapters) when played on iPod. If it works as advertised, this feature alone will mean that I upgrade to iMovie 6 forthwith!

    Many thanks.

Apple's "Learn to podcast" podcast uses them.
When I synced my iPod it gave me a "Some of your movies, including Learn to Podcast (or whatever) were not copied because they cannot be played on this iPod" (the videos seemed pretty large, so they might be over the 320x240 limit, but I've deleted them so I can't confirm). You could try using iTune's new "convert to iPod" item and see if the chapters stay in tact and work via that.

    Thanks for the reply emutree!

And thanks for the tip about Apple's 'How to...' Podcasts. Unfortunately, I tried doing as you suggested and the converted video didn't retain the chapter markers - even for use in iTunes. I guess the iPod is lacking the software or hardware necessary to offer this functionality, which is a shame as I think it's really useful. Oh well, I'll have to hope that it's implemented in some way in future.

    Thanks again.
