Apple doesn't often let outsiders into its secret design lab headed up by Jony Ive, but the company invited journalist Charlie Rose to tour the facility earlier this year. Footage from that trip is set to air this Sunday, December 20, on popular show 60 Minutes.

Teasers for the episode were revealed in a tweet from the 60 Minutes Twitter account this evening, depicting Charlie Rose alongside Jony Ive. The episode will also include a discussion with retail head Angela Ahrendts about Apple's "store of the future" and the company's retail plans.

Charlie Rose has done notable interviews with Apple executives in the past, including Jony Ive and Marc Newson in 2013 and Tim Cook in 2014.

Cuz Charlie is a male Baba Wawa, that's why.
He'll serve up Lord Jony a bunch of softballs
punctuated by a plethora of oohs and ahs.

Pogue on the other hand might ask some probing and inconvenient questions.
That just wouldn't do, don't ya know.
Yes, if I got to interview an Apple exec I would go in with Radar numbers and ask why X, Y, and Z haven't been fixed.

This is probably Tim's idea, he probably called the media himself before Jony knows about it. He surely loves the media and the media loves him too.

Before you know it, Apple will have thinness propaganda across the world.

The apple store of the future looks a lot like those in the present.

Yea, if your talking about the store having a ceiling, wall and floor.

Its going to have new tables (look familiar), new accessory section, Huge tv in the back, Different style genius bars, different stools, and accents in the store (posters, plants etc.).

May not seem that huge but its the biggest changes since they incorporated the wooden tables. Up until now most stores have a stainless steel design.

With all the talk about Ive, it's easy to forget that Angela Ahrendts is also being interviewed.

That said, I really don't like what she's being doing with Apple on the retail end. The decision to remove a dedicated store page on Apple's website was stupid. We've also seen their annual Back to School and Black Friday sales promotions become stingier if not eschewed completely.

Her mindset is probably still stuck in Burberry but this is Apple. Stop positioning Apple as an upscale fashion brand!

Why couldn't they just re-hire Ron Johnson after he was let go from his brief stint as CEO at JC Penny?
