What you said is so illogical, I'm not even sure what you're alluding to.

Yes, enough of that freedom of assembly crap.

As for the Democrats... they're almost identical to the Republicans, and certainly aren't socialists. Not that there is anything wrong with socialism... the top two best countries to live in according to the UN are socialist (Norway and Sweden).

As for me, I'm voting for Nader. NY is going to Kerry regardless... if Nader gets a good chunk, that'll hopefully send a message that NY isn't buying Kerry's pro-war, pro-corporation, pro-WTO bull****.

I have no problems with freedom of assembly(peaceably done that is...)
Where did you get the idea otherwise?

My point was you can stand out and protest all you want... but it does nothing...
Go to the polls.. it does

Everyone has the right to protest, here in Boston they put them in a cage. There may very well be a big surprise coming in America. Massachusetts and New York could be among them. Remember Tennessee in 2000.

How can you say it does nothing? In the only city in the US that's been hit by *major* terrorism, large scale protests can show that what Bush is doing has nothing to do with fighting terrorism... and that New York is more afraid of Bush than they are of the terrorists.

Do you know what a socialist is?

Only the socialists actually put any credibility to what the UN has to say

Bush does not listen to the citizens of America, I think that is what he meant.

    NO......
That isnt what I meant at all.....
I meant that protest actually do nothing....
But a protest at the polls does... i.e. protest with your vote.

    But if you insist....
No politician listens to the overall population... They only listen to their constituency...

And if their constituency is on the front page of the paper protesting, what does that do?

I suppose the two great protest movements in our country have slipped your mind? Women didn't have the right to vote when they demonstrated and protested for it. They sure as hell didn't VOTE to give themselves the vote. And do you suppose the civil rights movement would have happened when it did if the images of the treatment of protesters wasn't burned into the voters minds? Seriously, I don't see how you can say protest does nothing. Why did those guys chuck a bunch of tea into a harbor 200+ years ago rather than going to vote the tea tax away?

I know it sounds good to say protesting does nothing, but you are very wrong. I get your point that we need to vote regardless, but there are effective ways of protesting.

Although I suppose a facist... err conservative wouldn't understand that. :p

Why don't you back up your "simple fact" with some proof?

And in between votes, what then? Just sit tight for four years? That makes for pretty nominal representation. Sometimes protesting is the ONLY way to make your views known. It certainly contributed to the US pulling out of Vietnam.

But that's the great benefit of about being right about everything -- you don't need any proof, or even any evidence!
