Looks like Bush & gang have booted out the CIA director(Porter Goss) all the news are reporting. I wonder what he found out about this administration that led to his firing? Its clear this wasnt planned so ill be very curious as to why? Sure the CIA is as screwed as any Federal agency but the fact there wasnt a guy to take his place makes it very clear he was bootedhttp://msnbc.msn.com/id/12646394ed. If only we could Boot,Bush,Cheney,Rumsfeld,Rove,,,,,,,,,,

2008 isn't that far off. Nov '06 is even closer. :D Everyone keeps talking about this being a shake up. Looks more like people wanting to jump ship. People do that when the ship is sinking.

Um, if they're smart and can even admit the ship it sinking in the first place.

Looks like this is just more republican power plays between beauracrats from one part of our govt to another, everyone wants to be the one in control, the one in charge, the one telling others what to do. I dont know about you guys but I feel our Federal Govt needs to be dismantled and rebuilt from the ground up and not by the NeoCons but by the people. Impossible now?

My oldest friend's son just graduated with a major in computer security.
His dream is to work for CIA, NSA or something similar.

I can not believe some of the questions they ask when he was going for security
clearance. Like have you ever run through a toll both without paying, and would you stop and pay the toll or keep going?

Looks like Bush wants to put General Hayden in charge of the CIA, Though the CIA is suppose to be a civilian agency. Anyone get the feeling the Military are running our govt?

Looks like it's pretty much official:

    Link

That last paragraph alone is enough reason to oppose the appointment of Hayden. Anyone who thinks breaking the law is okay does not belong in the top spot.

And of course, there are other reasons. One is the military aspect they mentioned. Another is that Hayden is Negroponte's crony.

Let's hope that this turns into another Harriet Myers nomination.

Talk about trying to stack the deck!

Nothing like having your buddies sitting on top of everything marked classified, so it stays that way.

On the plus side, Hayden appears to be one of Rumsfeld's least favorite people.

Only positive thing I could think of!

This nomination is in trouble already. It appears the WH is convinced that another month or so of NSA wiretapping discussions are good for them. The Rubber Stamp Republican Congress seems less sure, what with elections only 6 months away.
