A 1956 study from the new england journal of medicine has shown a link between cigarettes and cancer.

In other news, the sky is blue. ;)

You need a link to the story for this to be in current events...

    Re: Cigarettes Cause Cancer

Was this a government funded study, because it seems like the info is being released a tad early for any politically sensitive subject.

Because, I'm still wondering if the government will acknowledge the world is round in my lifetime.

    No need for that.

Threads like these are quite similar to flashing a used brain donor card.

i think this is a great, as well as funny, way to point out something that i've been thinking. wdlove is hitting a bit heavy with health articles, many of which just reaffirm something we've known for some time. i mean, wdlove, you seem like a nice person and i truly don't mean offense, but perhaps it's time to slow it down a bit? i love health articles that are cutting edge or surprising or informative, but much of this isn't... 3/4 of the posts to such threads are "haven't we known this for a while now?"

this post seems so much more pointed than it was meant to be. please don't take it personally.

    :)

They are articles that are being posted on a local news channel. I do think that you would not have posted my name if it wasn't for a personal reason. I can't say that it doesn't hurt. Medical studies often build on older studies to see if they are still valid. Reminders are always helpful! :(

i would personally see it as much more mean if i just hinted at it... all that says is that i don't respect you enough to tell you what i think. it's not personal, i assure you... and after someone started this thread, it was kind of a matter of time. myself, i would much rather someone tell me something with some measure of compassion than start a sarcastic discussion eluding to it.

i do apologize if i upset you. i should have probably thought more before i posted...

Hey don't bring me into this. Its just a joke. I never knew all the blatantly obvious and outdated posts were posted by wdlove. Also, its not insulting him, its insulting the institutuions for re-researching what could be categorized as "general knowledge".

I don't believe that my heavy smoking is hurting my body. Also, if I walk out in front of a semi I won't get killed. I can also fly and read minds! :D
