Does anyone know if they've released a demo version of Civ 4 for Mac or if they plan to? I really want to buy it, but am having doubts that it will run at all on my 1.67 GHz G4 with 1GB RAM.

They haven't released a demo, man. Sorry. And… your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements (except in RAM). Have to have at least a G5 processor to play this game.

my experience with civ 4 both pc and mac is that the system requirements are set too low. at those levels, you are limited to small world sizes and down and/or having to finish the game prior to 1000AD.

so, if your mac is under the requirement, i am sorry but i would skip it.

it runs fine on my macbook (even with the integrated graphics), but I'm pretty sure it would choke a G4. One early reviewer with a single 1.25 G4 powermac with Radeon 9800 said his screen went black when he tried to start a game. The patch helps a lot, but I still don't think it's even going to launch on a G4.
