I've got a PowerMac G5 running 10.4.6 that Classic seems to be hanging when starting up. It gets past the smily mac to the Mac OS 9-on-grey screen, but then stops (never gets to the extensions parade). If I do it normally (ie, double clicking an OS 9 app, or launching from System Preferences), TruBlueEnvironment hangs (according to Activity Monitor). If I start it with Extensions Off (via System Preferences), it just doesn't go. I've restarted the computer, repaired permissions, installed all updates (not in that order), and even replaced the System Folder completely with one that was on the OS Install Disc 2 that came with the computer (the original System Folder on there was copied from another computer). That computer also has a backup of another hard drive, which has its own System Folder. This one does the same thing when launched. So I replaced Classic Startup.app with one from the instal DVD via Pacifist. Still no joy. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
