politics, politics, politics. Kerry doesn't want to alienate people, so that is why (imho) that one of his aides says it.

I'm hoping he verbally body-slams him in front of all of America during the debates. I'd love to see Bush smirk his way out of that one.

Ditto. Actually I'd love to see Clinton do it.

Not to hijack the thread, but it is an interesting coincidence<sp?> considering the "girlie-man" thread. Anyone going to shame Kerry's aide for name calling?

It's kind of refreshing to hear someone call it like they see it. A bunch of untrue statements came from the president's mouth? He knew they weren't true? They were proven false and he failed to retract them, well guess what? That makes him a LIAR.
Is it name calling to call a liar a liar? He did lie, so why not call him a liar?

I was talking about the "Mr. Macho Man" comment.

It's in the article in the original post (about half-way down). Cleland said it. Is he not considered an aide?

sorry, i thought you were referring to a separate incident.

though i like cleland's anger, and certainly cannot fault him for lashing out after the way he was treated in his last election, i still don't think such language is constructive. i'd rather he present facts and lay out a case.

I agree. I also think we all know how hard it is to resist getting a little jab, a little insult, in there when we can. Especially when you feel so passionately about something. There's a lil' voice in the back of your head going, "Say it! Say it! You know you want to! Saaaayyyy iiitttt!!!!" :D

But resisting temptation is what seperates us from...uh... those that can't resist temptation. l  It's 2am here that's about as philosophical as I'm gonna get. :p

And no, I don't think I used too many smilies. :)
