Cloned drive using CCC not bootable?

I'm about to clone my SSD to a folder on my external HD using CCC 3.5.2, and right before it begins, it warns me that this version of ML will not be bootable on the cloned drive.

This is the only reason I got CCC, in order to create a bootable clone while create a fused drive using 2 other drives.

Any idea why I'm getting this warning?

It sounds like you're trying to back up to a folder, rather than to a dedicated partition.
